About Us

Who We Are

Our History

This is where we started. In 1978, in a small garage in the backyard of Bill Turner’s home after he answered an ad for repairing hydraulic jacks in the magazine, Popular Mechanics. With countless hours of hard work and the support of his wife, Jane, the company grew steadily. In 1982, when the chance to become a hydraulics service center was offered if he had a partner, his son, Dan, a college student, began working full-time for his father with the understanding that he would give it a try for 6 months. That six months has turned into more than thirty-five years.

Bill Turner Sr, Founder

In 1984, the hydraulic repair business had grown in scope and size to the point that the backyard shop was too small and a new facility was built in a nearby industrial park. It grew from fixing jacks for garages into providing lifts, air compressors, lubrication systems, and more to vehicle servicing facilities of all sizes. They, also, added industrial hydraulic service and machining capabilities. As the company continued to grow, more employees were hired including Bill Turner, II, who is the Sales and Leasing Manager and Beckey (Turner) Shover who was the Office Manager and is now retired. In 1993, after Bill Turner retired, his son, Dan, bought the business and became President of Turner Hydraulics.

Today

Fast forward to today and Turner Hydraulics has become part of the Turner Companies which includes TASCorp, the automation group, all led by owner and President, Dan Turner. We’ve grown to a footprint of 35,000 square feet with not only a hydraulic repair shop, but, also, a retail showroom, machine shop, fabrication shop, sales and service departments, and an automation and panel building group. Our expertise has expanded as well. Not only do we offer design, repair, and implementation of hydraulic systems, but pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical solutions as well. We can do it all.

As Dan continued to work with his father and grow the business, he started Dan’s Hose & Fittings, and took night classes in machining, electrical, welding and fluid power. In 1993, upon his parents’ retirement, Dan bought Turner Hydraulics and in 1996 started TASCorp, the automation arm of Turner.
